Context:
Starting in January 2025, Amazon will be offering Amazon Prime to hourly and certain salaried employees who have at least 90 days of tenure. They will be able to enjoy Prime at no cost to them until they leave Amazon employment.
As the Senior UX Writer for Amazon Prime, I was responsible for all communications surrounding benefit activation, notifications of change, error messages, and outbound communications.
• A crucial consideration is that we cannot use the word “free” as that is not legally or technically accurate
• There are a number of ingresses and journeys to consider, including employees who are already Prime members, on a Prime free trial, or sharing their benefits through another Prime member in their household
• Loss of eligibility is tricky as well, as there is a soft cancellation period in which a customer can choose to continue as a Prime member, resume the Prime plan they already had, or cancel completely
